John Davis with a real bunny!

Thanks to Mrs. Barbara, my mother-in-law, for taking John Davis to have his Easter pictures taken with a real bunny rabbit. This picture turned out very cute, I think. Mrs. Barbara said that she felt sorry for the bunny because John Davis loved pulling his long, fuzzy ears! I guess he thought the bunny was similar to Cooper, our dog, who lets John Davis get away with pulling his ears!

Easter Day

John Davis' 1st Easter Egg Hunt

We went over to Ricky's & Stephanie's house yesterday for an Easter Egg hunt with all of John Davis' cousins. They were very kind to let him get the eggs out in plain sight! After John Davis found two, one for each hand, he was through hunting eggs.

What Powdered Donuts?

John Davis loves powdered donuts as much as Keith and I do. Now I have someone to blame the empty bag on! Ha, ha!

Getting ready...

for fishing season! It was such a beautiful day, Keith, John Davis and I were all outside spending some time together. Keith was giving John Davis lessons on fishing and planning their first fishing trip in our pond. I don't know who was more excited, Keith or John Davis?

Playing with Grandpa

Playing at Uncle Ricky's House

We went over to Keith's brother's house and everyone enjoyed playing with John Davis. First the kids were playing with him, then Keith and Ricky began playing with John Davis. I don't' know if you call this dress up or just having a good laugh. Afterwards, John Davis "sacked out" in Ricky's lap!

Hat Day

Here some pictures of John Davis with his favorite hat. He tries to be just like his daddy!

Mom trying to learn photography

I love to take pictures, and when John Davis was born what better thing could I take pictures of than our precious little boy? He is always happy; therefore, it is easy to take pictures of him. I'm still trying to learn about my camera, so the professionals need not to be worried...yet!

John Davis' 1st Haricut

I know you are supposed to wait until 1 year to get a baby's haircut, but John Davis' hair was getting too long. Keith and I took John Davis to Head Games in Tifton for Keith's best friend, Jeff, to cut John Davis' hair. He was a great client. He was very cooperative and Jeff did a great job!

How do I look?

Keith, John Davis and I went to Bainbridge to visit Keith's cousins. While Keith and his cousin were duck hunting, I found some of Scoutt's hats that John Davis could play with. I thought he looked too cute not to take some pictures!

Go Dawgs...

Hopefully, John Davis' Papa won't get too mad about this picture. Papa & G are huge Auburn fans and John Davis' Grandpa and Grandma are big Georgia fans. I think John Davis looks cute in any team colors personally.

Raising a Duck Hunter

Keith loves for John Davis to sit with him and watch any kind of hunting video. He was equally excited to see John Davis try to "blow" in his duck call.

We're back...

Sorry it has taken so long to update John Davis' blog, but our computer has been out of commission. Luckily, it was still under warranty and HP repaired it. We finally have it back and I should have pictures posted of growing John Davis soon!

The Three Amigos

Look at John Davis and his friends, Harrison and Owen. We had their parents over one night for dinner. This was their 2nd play date.

More Christmas with John Davis

Here are some family pictures. I love the picture of Keith, John Davis and me. I think John Davis looks just like his Daddy in this picture.

Our neices and nephew got a 4wheeler for Christmas. They were excited about riding it. They wanted to pose with John Davis on their new ride.

John Davis is learning to like being on his stomach. He somehow manages to get from sitting position to crawling position. He rocks back and forth, but he doesn't crawl. I wonder how long it will be before he is crawling all over the place?

Christmas with John Davis

We had a great Christmas with John Davis. It was such a wonderful experience beginning traditions that will last a lifetime. We visited with friends and family, and we took lots of pictures.

Christmas at Our House

Christmas at Our House, by Barbara Mandrell is one of my favorite Chirstmas CD's. I have been playing it all of December. Here are some pictures of John Davis and Gabby getting ready for Christmas, hot or cold. I am so excited to be in our house for our first Christmas with John Davis.

Before I was a Mom.....

Before I was a Mom.....
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom...
I had never been puked on...
Pooped on...
Chewed on...
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom...
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom...
I ne ver held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him/her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom...
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom...
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
