Destin Commons

After spending time in Bass Pro, we strolled down to the commons area at Destin Commons. The fountains are so much fun to play in. We brought along John Davis' swimsuit and he knew exactly what to do!

Yes, we had matching shirts!

John Davis loves his cousin, Gabby. Whatever one does, the other one has to try and imitate. They are so cute to watch. I hope they continue to play as well together as they do now.
Mom thought it would be a great idea to buy matching shirts for everyone on the 4th of July. We were all together at the beach and nothing else would top off the occasion but if everyone wore these shirts. Keith and Paulo were hesitant, but Mom insisted. You know what they say, "if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." So, Keith and Paulo slipped them on for the picture!

July 4th weekend at the beach!

Aunt Sue gave John Davis some of the Chocolate Chess pie batter and he loved it...of course!
Gabby found John Davis' hiding spot at the beach.
Gabby and John Davis loved swimming with Granddaddy in the pool at Gammie's house.
Wow! John Davis loves the water!
The next Americal Idol...John Davis Summerlin!

Visiting the Daylilly Garden

We went with Mrs. Barbara to visit the Daylilly Garden above Tifton. What a beautiful place! John Davis went immediately to the duck planter and said "duck." I think his daddy has trained him well in identifying ducks and deer. We have a hunter on our hands!

Father's Day 2008

John Davis and Gabby were able to spend time with Papa on Father's Day. We enjoyed having our Dad up from Panama City Beach to visit.

We ate Father's Day lunch with Granddaddy and Mimi. John Davis enjoyed eating off of everyone's plate.

Vacation in Daytona

John Davis and I went
down to Daytona with Keith's parents for our annual summer vacation. This year, Keith had to meet us on Wednesday due to his class schedule. Here are some pictures from our trip. John Davis LOVED the beach. Digging in the sand was one of his favorite things to do! It didn't matter to him if the sand was on him or not. If we had a dollar for every time we took John Davis to the water to rinse off, we could afford another
vacation!

Hanging out at the Kiddie Pool

Loving my Mommy and Daddy

Before I was a Mom.....

Before I was a Mom.....
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom...
I had never been puked on...
Pooped on...
Chewed on...
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom...
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom...
I ne ver held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him/her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom...
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom...
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
