My dear friend, Britni, and her daughter, Braylee, drove up from Tallahassee and picked up John Davis and me and we drove over to Chehaw Park. John Davis and Braylee were instant friends and were excited about seeing all of the animals. It would have been 100% better if the animals were actually awake, but they were all smart and sleeping in the shade. It was very hot, but we didn't mind. We stopped at the water fountain to fill up sippy cups and finally made it to the concession stands where a Mountain Dew was waiting for Britni and Braylee and a Diet Dr. Pepper was waiting on John Davis and me!

Family Yard Work
Keith and I enjoy working in the yard. This particular Saturday we had many flowers we had to plant. John Davis is always wanting to help, so we put on his play clothes and out we went. We gathered gloves, shovels, and of course, worms. I couldn't pick up the worm without my gloves on, but John Davis loved the worms and collected them in a bucket!
Another Beach Trip
We could have lived at the beach if Keith didn't have so many projects going on. John Davis loves every part of the beach except having to leave it. He loves digging in the sand, playing in the water, and he evens loves eating down on the beach! I hope he continues to love it as much as Keith and I do!
4th of July
We went down to Panama City for the 4th of July! We had such a wondeful time seeing the fireworks at Pier Park. We met up with our cousins and enjoyed each other's company. It was so hot, but we didn't mind. The awesome fireworks made up for the heat. John Davis kept saying "more" because of what a wonderful show Pier Park put on!

2nd trip to the beach
A group of us went down to the beach for a short trip, and we had a great time! I am getting a lot of use out of my new camera that my wonderful husband bought me for Christmas! I still have a lot to learn! We all packed out white and khaki clothes to try out the beach portraits you see! Here are just a few of the pictures we took! What an experience trying to get everyone posed!
Daytona Beach 1st Summer Vacation
As you can tell, John Davis loves the beach. I do not believe there is one part he does not like. Well, actually, he doesn't like me putting sunscreen on him. He always fusses during that part, but he is wide open running down to the beach afterwards. I truely think if we would have let him, he would have stayed out on the beach from sun up until sun down. Keith dug a hole for him daily to play in and he loved it! There were numerous trips to the ocean to get more water for his hole. I am enjoying making these memories from summer vacation!
Bell's Daylilly Garden
We loved Daylillies! There is a great garden to visit not to far from our house. So, we went one beautiful day and roamed the gardens. We forgot John Davis' stroller so we had to teach him not to touch the flowers. He loved all of the scenery. What a peaceful place to visit! Next time I want to pack a picnic lunch and spend the whole day.

Before I was a Mom.....
Before I was a Mom.....
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom...
I had never been puked on...
Pooped on...
Chewed on...
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom...
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom...
I ne ver held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him/her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom...
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom...
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
